When you arrive at City Tile there is a sign on the door that says, “excuse our mess.” The “mess” is the removal of old and the laying of new tiles in the showroom. Keeping up with the latest trends, City Tile has torn out some old displays and added some of the hottest new design looks.
BRICK IT! The first new floor tile on display in the showroom might be mistaken for the yellow brick road, except it isn’t yellow. However, it will definitely lead you to an enchanted new in vogue home sweet home. This faux brick tile is made by Shaw; one of the biggest names in flooring. It is called “Golden Gate” and all of the colors refer to places in San Francisco. The three colors it comes in are: Presidio (a cream), Lombard (a rustic red), and Pacific Heights (a multi-toned grey)
WHAT THE HEX? Hexagonal shaped tile has been growing in popularity over the last several years. Most has been used in bathrooms, white and black small hexagonal tiles laid in a mosaic pattern. But Gio Architectural Tile & Stone has created a new large format hexagonal tile that stands head and shoulders above all the others. The tiles come in solids and with geometric designs that the company has dubbed ‘décor’. The style is named “Terre Hex,” and the colors are tobacco, cream and dusty gray.
PLANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. Wood plank tile is hot, hot, hot, as we all know, but the 3×38 “Charleston Multi-Colored Plank” from Gio Architectural Tile & Stone has been created to look like painted barn wood. It is truly memorable. Shown at the store in shades of pale blue, rust, tan, pale yellow and light chocolate, this floor stands out. It will be great for a casual sunroom, inviting mudroom, or laid-back laundry room.
FLAG ME DOWN. Let’s face it, stone is big. American Olean has created a faux flagstone tile with greater durability than the real thing. The tile is called “Stone Claire” and comes in large format 13 x 20 tiles. Perfect for an entryway. Another great new stone-look tile gracing the floor of the City Tile showroom takes us back to ancient Rome, or behind the walls of the Vatican. Called “Villa Medici” it looks like the worn ruins of the old world with a touch of gold.
If these great new tiles have peaked your interest, come on into the showroom and see more. Our staff will help you find the perfect tile, or other flooring, that is just right for your new home or remodel!
