On Sunday, December 18, 2016, our father, friend, and leader passed away from cancer. Doug Young was not just a small business owner. Nor was he only a good civic leader. Doug loved Murfreesboro and the people in it. His passion for improving the quality of life of everyone around him was infectious, as were his jokes and his laughter. He was thrilled to see his hometown become the home of so many more over these past few years, and he was committed to keeping it safe for families. And we can’t forget to mention his love for MTSU – he never forgot to show his Blue spirit. Doug led his family, his city, and his business with humility, respect and love, always putting others first. He will be missed, but his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the city he loved.
Visitation for Doug will be Wednesday, December 21st from 4-8 pm at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, 1488 Lascassas Pike, with the Celebration of Life service at First Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 22nd.
City Tile will close at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 22nd so that we can attend the service and will not reopen until Tuesday, December 27.
